Have you been searching for a wedding dress that makes you feel stylish and special? Whether you’ve just started looking, or if you’ve been shopping for months, the newest bridal trends for 2018 may inspire you to try something refreshingly different. We have seen a bold change from the traditional ‘princess’ silhouettes on catwalks recently. Wedding dresses for 2018 and 2019 have been made in softer shapes that require less structure underneath. We’ve seen a turn toward silky fabrics, fine tulle and a real focus on feeling luxuriously soft. This is fantastic news for our brides travelling abroad for destination weddings! Have a read below of the top 5 trends emerging at bridal shops here in Greater Manchester and internationally.
Off the Shoulder or ‘Bardot’ Necklines
Long ago it would have been scandalous for brides to bare their shoulders, but luckily in this modern age it’s become highly stylish to show a little skin. The Bardot neckline has become a fashion staple on the high street and now we are seeing even more of this trend in the bridal industry! We love how feminine and chic this look is, so here’s hope it becomes a consistent style in wedding dresses, season after season. Our ‘Arizona’ gown pictured above is part of our 7th Avenue Collection. ‘Arizona’ has a beautifully constructed bodice in lace and a crepe chiffon skirt. The lace ‘Dahlia’ jacket below is a stunning separate piece that can be paired with any bridal gown. It buttons at the back and can also be easily stitched to your gown as a permanent addition to your wedding dress. Textured 3D Lace
Lace has always been a favourite fabric of brides and bridal designers. This year, we’ve seen a lot of new textures and unique twists on this classic fabric. New technologies in textiles allow designers to create show-stopping styles with laser cut fabrics, thickly woven 3D designs and even more intricately formed florals. Wedding dresses are made even more interesting with the use of these fantastic fabrics. Our ‘Diana’ gown, also part of the 7th Avenue Collection, has been thoughtfully designed with two different laces, mixed with soft tulle for a very bohemian look. The bodice is constructed with 3D lace which overlaps the sweetheart neckline for a gorgeous finish.
Our newest designer wedding dress collection, Ella Rosa Gallery, have incorporated the plunging neckline into their new season gowns. Perfect for modern brides that want a sultry style, this trend is sure to look fabulous. We have their newest 2018 bridal collection in store for an Exclusive Designer Trunk Show, with a dozen extra styles so new they aren’t even on our website yet! Here are two of our favourite wedding gowns from the range. The event finishes January 17th, please Contact Us today or book in with our Online Diary to view the range at our Bolton boutique. We also have a beautiful selection of their wedding dresses in store from previous collections, all of which can be seen online as well.
Pearl Beaded Accents
One of our favourite wedding dress trends is the return of pearls. Pearl beading is a gorgeous way to add texture and shine to your gown. Designers have incorporated much more beading into their gowns for 2018 and 2019 brides. We’ve seen this as both a focal point of highly embellished gowns, as well as a more demure addition on top of lace. Every bride wants to feel elegant and special on their wedding day; and we find with so many of our customers a little beading goes a long way to make their gown feel even more luxurious. Below are two Ella Rosa Gallery styles, Ivy and Rosalie. These gowns have both pearl and crystal beading on top of soft lace. The sheer neckline on Ivy really allows you to appreciate how intricately detailed the fabric is. The soft satin skirt adds a beautiful finish to these dresses and can be worn with an extra underskirt to add volume to the a-line shape.
Nude Colour Palettes
Would you like a change from classic ivory? If you’re looking for a wedding gown with a hint of colour, then this season’s new colour palette will be a breath of fresh air. Nude shades like champagne, blush and oyster are very on trend. We adore the newest Gallery style, Tilly, below in champagne with fine ivory tulle. It has a flowing shape and very lightweight feel. Our brides have said when they put on this dress it’s the most comfortable style they’ve tried! The sheer neckline has a hint of lace and is so easy to accessorise. Pair ‘Tilly’ with long crystal earrings and a classic updo. This dress would be ideal for a destination wedding or warm summer wedding as it travels effortlessly in one of our bridal dress bags. This gown is also part of our Designer Trunk Show, available to try at our Greater Manchester boutique until January 17th. Book online today to try all the gowns you’ve seen here and many more.
